Silver-tungsten sintered materials combine the high electrical and thermal conductivity of silver with the high hardness, weld resistance, minimal material transfer, and high burn-off properties of high-melting-point tungsten. When silver-tungsten electrical contacts are frequently switched on and off in air under operating current, a mixed oxide layer forms on the contact surface, creating an oxide film that increases contact resistance.
Applications: Low-voltage automatic switches, high-voltage circuit breakers, and their protective switches, etc.
