Silver-tungsten carbide materials containing 12-65% tungsten carbide have extremely high hardness and wear resistance. While their contact resistance is slightly higher than that of pure silver-tungsten, it remains very stable. During an electric arc, free carbon plays a reducing role, preventing oxide layer formation and providing excellent arc resistance.
Applications: Used in low-voltage automatic switches, high-voltage circuit breakers, and protective switches, etc.
